Did the CIA Poison Hugo Chavez?

Just hours before announcing the death of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez today, the country’s vice-president Nicolas Maduro was holding a press conference announcing the expulsion of two US diplomats accused of spying on the Venezuelan military.

Maduro also used the press conference to accuse the US and other foreign countries of poisoning or infecting Chavez to bring on his terminal cancer. Maduro compared Chavez’ condition to that of former Palestine Liberation Organization leader Yasser Arafat just before he died in France in 2004 less than a month after becoming sick.

In November 2012 Arafat’s widow Suha ordered his body exhumed, after she was told by French authorities last summer that high levels of deadly radioactive polonium-210 had been found on Arafat’s toothbrush, sheets and clothing.

The International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) was created at the behest of the US and received its funding and direction from its NATO sponsors. [1]  The very concept of an ad hoc tribunal established with the intent of judging events that occur in only one geographic location violates the standard of equity of law.  Attempts by the world community to establish an International Criminal Court, which would have jurisdiction around the world, have failed due to US insistence that American citizens be exempt from prosecution by the court.

This US attitude of being above the law is nothing new.  In 1984 when the World Court ruled that the US should compensate Nicaragua for mining its harbor at Corinto, the US simply ignored the verdict.  As Slobodan Milosevic wrote of the ICTY, “The United States itself, immune from control or prosecution and above the law, uses its power to cause persecution of enemies it selects to terrorize and further demonize.”

A century of mining and decades of clear-cutting have taken their toll on Western Montana’s formerly pristine Blackfoot River. Once a world-class trout stream and the subject of Norman McLean’s classic novel A River Runs Through It, the river has been transformed into a muddy concoction of heavy metals and silt flowing west from the Continental Divide into the Clark Fork River just east of Missoula, Montana.

There are virtually no fish in the river now. The Blackfoot drainage has been so badly denuded by Wall Street robber barons that when Robert Redford came to Montana to produce the recent movie based on McLean’s novel, he chose to film on the Gallatin River instead. In April 1992 American Rivers listed the Blackfoot among the ten most endangered rivers in the United States, noting that the river may not be able to withstand another industry onslaught. It now appears this day of reckoning is just around the bend.

BNSF: On the Wrong Track

Burlington Northern (BN) gave pink slips to 190 out of 250 workers at its locomotive repair shop in Havre, Montana. Eight percent of the locomotive repair workers at BN’s Glendive, Montana shop were also given notice. Similar job cuts occurred at BN facilities in Minnesota, Nebraska, Illinois and Washington – saving the company about $9 million a year. The cuts were made in the wake of General Electric’s production of new high-technology locomotives that are able to traverse the entire High Line between Chicago and Seattle without any en route servicing.

Back to the Country: Part II

In April I buy a culvert and hire a backhoe to put in another driveway off the highway. We buy a metal frame building kit from our crazy neighbor Fred and put it up near the road.

We drive to Tahlequah, Oklahoma where Jill drops me off. I have $1,000 in my pocket, most of what we have to our name. I hitch a ride with a trucker all the way to the Mexican border, then catch consecutive buses all the way to Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. I spend $400 on Guatemalan textiles, spend one night in a hotel, and head back north via Palenque, Mexico where I spend another $400 on Yucatan hammocks. Without sleeping I catch the next bus for the US border.

The 69’ Reliant runs like a top all the way to a cheap Indian-run hotel in Hays, Kansas.  Through a canopy of frozen fog we enter the ghostly Ozarks.  We careen down ribbons of twisting highways in search of land.  We sleep one night in the cramped car behind a repair shop.  On Day #2 we sign a contract for deed on ten acres and an old mobile home fronting Highway 62 between Gateway and Eureka Springs in the northwest corner of Arkansas.

The asking price is $29,900. We offer $20,000 with $10,000 down and the balance payable monthly over five years.  They accept – fully expecting with one glance at our old car full of everything we own in this world that we will never be able to pay off the remainder and they will get the property back, along with our ten grand.  We later have a feeling that happened to some before us on this piece of land.

Mali, Hagel & the Rothschilds

Yesterday, as if to send a message to the US Senate Armed Services Committee, Israel bombed a convoy on the Syria/Lebanon border. It seems to have worked. This morning, chicken hawks on that committee with names like McCain and Inhofe are busy grilling Obama Defense Secretary Nominee Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-NE) as to his unflagging allegiance to mother Israel and the military-industrial complex alike.

Meanwhile, the Rothschild-led City of London Illuminati banksters who run the dog and pony show otherwise known as Israel, seek to grab more global resources – this time in the north African country of Mali.

On February Tuareg rebels based in northern Mali, with help from al Qaeda remnants trained and armed by Rothschild intelligence agencies MI6 and Mossad to overthrow the neighboring Qaddafi government in Libya, attacked government troops in the Algerian border town of Tinzaouaten.

Big Rigs Of The Illuminati

In 2010 as BP was beating a hasty retreat from its Gulf cleanup efforts, Exxon Mobil was busy dodging Montana opponents of its scheme to haul hugely-oversized South Korean-made equipment over the very twisty Lolo Pass.  Officials from Exxon Mobil’s Canadian subsidiary Imperial Oil, aware of a loud and growing opposition, failed to show up at a Lolo City Council meeting.

The rigs were bound for oil tar sands mines in northern Alberta, where Peace River tribes are already being poisoned by this most environmentally destructive oil extraction process.  Montana - ever a resource colony of the Eastern Establishment - was offered $86 million in highway funds by Imperial.  That wouldn’t even have covered the cost of the asphalt needed to fix the roads on the heels of these passing monstrosities - asphalt which I assume would be purchased from another Exxon Mobil subsidiary if history is any sort of guide.

Illuminati Terror Alerts Fall On Deaf Ears

Last year’s terror alerts in Europe must be seen through the prism of a series of recent challenges to international banker hegemony.  First, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad infuriated the Establishment when he stated before the United Nations that 911 was an inside job.  The night before, he had embarrassed CNN talk show host Larry King, who predictably attempted to portray Ahmadinejad as a crazy.  The Iranian leader turned the tables on the staunch Zionist King, wondering out loud why he seemed more concerned about Israel’s national security than he was about American interests.

Ever since White House environmental advisor Van Jones was forced to resign in September 2009 over comments he made regarding his suspicions of the 911 “official story”, 911 Truth activists have been targeted, intimidated and harassed.  Now with the whole world watching, the ugly 911 truth genie was back out of the bottle.  There was even word that a US military intelligence group had joined the 911 Truth quest.

Despite the current establishment thesis that the Occupy Movement had no staying power and was just a flash in the proverbial monopoly capitalist pan, Occupy is the best thing to happen to this country since the IWW. In 1979, as Iranian revolutionaries were taking charge in Tehran, Carter National Security Adviser, Afghan Frankenstein godfather and Trilateral Commission co-founder Zbigniew Brzezinski was in Kuwait City meeting with Kuwaiti Emir Sheik Jaber Ahmed al Sabah, House of Saud envoys and Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.  The group decided that Saddam’s Republican Guard would seize the oil-rich Iranian province of Khuzistan.

In 1980 Iraq invaded Iran.  That same year Kuwait’s Ambassador to the United Nations shed light on the forces which had used Brzezinski to goad Hussein into his attempt to partition Iran’s oilfields.  He informed the UN General Assembly of, “a cabal which controls and manipulates and exploits the rest of humanity by controlling the money and wealth of the world”.

The December 14, 2012 massacre at Sandy Hook elementary school in Newtown, CT which left 26 dead bore all the hallmarks of a Satanic Illuminati horror-fest designed as a pretext for accomplishing the Eight Families’ longtime goal of disarming pesky American revolutionaries in preparation of the imposition of world government by lizard bloodline.

Unintended brutality seems as normal as the rising of the sun each cold winter morning.  I grew up showing cattle, became a star middle linebacker, a decent trombone player and an unwilling Homecoming King.  The trip to the barber was mandatory and always on schedule.

Shopping for frivolous and unnecessary items consumes way too much of most people’s time and budget, while chaining the new owner of this junk to a cluttered garage, a storage unit and general sedentary misery.

Still there are certain tools and entertainments we wish to procure and there are many good ways to get them other than at a store.

Again it is all about attitude. You must develop a resistance to shopping. It should be viewed as morally reprehensible. When you need to attain an item, do your research and find out where to get it at the best price, preferably – except, I would argue, in the case of electronics – used. Remember, the system has declared war on your family. Don’t shop much. And fight like a mercenary of the revolutionary army when you must shop.

Republican Poodles Have A Hoover Moment

With his K Street bosses heading for their collective put option exits this past week, Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-IN) found it in him to put down the whiskey bottle just long enough to summon his House legions back to Washington at 6:30 PM tomorrow night – just 30 hours before we are told we will careen over the dreaded fiscal cliff.  Clutch move Boehner.  Just don’t start crying.

Lame Democratic tendencies aside, any poor sap still duped by or enamored with the increasingly irrelevant political dinosaur known as the Republican Party couldn’t have helped notice the Grand Old Party’s solid allegiance to the International Banking Cartel.  Yet they probably did miss this rerun.  Stockholm Syndrome anyone?

2013 Resolution

Happy New Year!  A big thanks to all who have read, subscribed, shared or donated to Left Hook.  Your support, critical thinking abilities and kind words are what keeps me writing each week.

Ten years ago this blog would not have succeeded.  People were living in fear and being devastated by the Eight Families banking monopoly and their corporate arsenal.  As we begin a new epoch, as noted by the Mayans and other indigenous peoples, our opportunities for emancipation will increase.

Many people are escaping suburbia to a life in the country.  We’ve been living like this for the past two decades – half here in the Missouri Ozarks and half in the Western Montana Rockies.  Most weeks we go to town once to get groceries.  Otherwise it’s “Buy Nothing Week” for us year round.

HSBC Skates

Last week Argentina levied a $6 million fine on HSBC Bank Argentina SA for money laundering.  This comes on the heels of last week’s announcement that HSBC would pay a record $1.92 billion fine to US authorities for laundering money for Mexican drug cartels.  The latter decision left many wondering exactly what kind of crime a banker has to commit before he goes to jail.

In July 2011, First Niagara Financial Group announced that it would buy 195 retail bank branches in New York and Connecticut from HSBC for around $1 billion. [1] HSBC acquired the branches when it bought the spooky Marine Midland in 1980.

According to Global Finance, the UK-headquartered HSBC Holdings is the world’s 3rd largest bank with $2.36 trillion in assets. [2] Formerly known as Hong Kong Shanghai Bank Corporation, HSBC has served as the world’s #1 drug money laundry since its inception as a repository for British Crown opium proceeds accrued during the Chinese Opium Wars. During the Vietnam War HSBC laundered CIA heroin proceeds.

The Colombian border station is ultra-modern, the Mercedes Benz bus we board on the other side is even more so.  We cruise north in luxury, hopping off for the night at Popayan.  The age-old dilemma of the traveler sets in during a conversation at our guest house with an Irish couple, whose eyes glow with a wonderment that makes me want to go where they had just been.  That place is five bumpy hours southeast of here at the ruins of San Augustin and Terrendios.  It is a tangent with a nice ring, a ganja-filled paradise of overwhelming quietness, despite its proximity to FARQ-held territory.

Shut Er’ Down!

With the fabricated “fiscal cliff” rapidly approaching, Republicans in Congress – sworn to Grover Norquist and his Illuminati bankster handlers alike - are still playing games.  These boot lickers can’t stand the thought of the elite paying their fair share of taxes, despite the fact that these idle rich have fed at the public trough since its inception.

The Republican solution will again be a bill targeting the poor and middle class for yet more austerity measures - the sole purpose of the “fiscal cliff” puppet show.   Should Democrats stick to their current and most welcome fighting mood, sequestration will occur and the government will shut down.   OK by me.

Americans have no one to blame but themselves for this fiasco. While the idiocracy this country is fast becoming piles the blame on Congress, they seem to forget that it was they who voted for this current batch of ignorant banker shills whose IMF-sanctioned mission is to destroy every vestige of government for the people and replace it will with rule by oligarchy.

Of Goldman Sachs & Tenghizchevroil

In July 2010 those poor billionaire chaps at the bloodsucking firm otherwise known as Goldman Sachs, admitted no fraud and got slapped with a $550 million fine by the SEC.  Should have been ten times the money and jail time, but hey, these same guys stiffed us for a trillion in the “banker bailout” two years ago, so who’s counting. 

My Picks for Obama’s 2nd Term Cabinet

As Obama prepares for a 2nd term, there are signs that a Cabinet housecleaning may be underway.  The controversies around CIA Director Petraeus and General Allen, and talk that Hillary Clinton will no longer be Secretary of State bode well for a less hawkish foreign policy.

But the people’s revolution to overthrow the parasitic Money Power has just begun.  The 2008 Wall Street bailout further concentrated power in the hands of what I term in my book Big Oil & Their Bankers…, the Four Horsemen of US banking – JP Morgan Chase, Citigroup, Wells Fargo and Bank of America.  As I write this, President-elect Obama is being swarmed by Illuminati operatives who will try to control the direction he moves this country.

Thanksgiving Food for Thought

I like the concept of Thanksgiving, though the history is rightly associated with the Native American genocide at the hands of Euro-banker mercenaries.  Thanksgiving should serve as a metaphor for the kindness which the “real human beings” embody.

Those European expeditions, financed by the inbred Sangreal (bloodline) Illuminati Kings, were designed to decimate indigenous people and, more importantly, their collectivist worldview, which still today serves as a roadblock on the bankers’ path towards world domination.

The best book I’ve read lately is The Real Human Beings by Calvin Luther Martin.  A well-known Rutgers history professor, Martin tired of the academic climber scene, quit his job and went to live with the Yupic people near Bethel, Alaska.

Martin’s book speaks of two very different realities, which cannot be reconciled.  As such, the indigenous reality has been continually discredited, suppressed and physically attacked by the invader reality.  It is a story of givers and takers- a tale of a people who see themselves a part of nature and a people who see themselves separate from nature.

Rubber Gloves for UK Oligarchs

Yesterday British Petroleum agreed to pay $4.5 billion in fines and other payments to the US government, while pleading guilty  to 14 criminal charges connected to the April 2010 disaster which resulted in nearly 5  million barrels of crude being spilled into the Gulf of Mexico.  Eleven workers were killed aboard the Deepwater Horizon rig.  The fine is the biggest single criminal fine in corporate history.

Weeks after the calamity, the British Establishment was still lecturing Americans on the perils of blasphemy in the colonies.  Lord Norman Tebbit, former Thatcher Employment Secretary, had the temerity to accuse President Obama of “a crude, bigoted, xenophobic display of partisan political presidential petulance against a multinational company”.  Sounds like the pot calling the kettle black.

Daily Mail columnist Geoffrey Wheatcroft accused our seditious president of “hypocritical as well as demagogic” criticism of BP.  Wheatcroft then went on to recount a pattern of disrespect that the US has shown the British dating to 1812.  Disrespect?  I guess Mr. Wheatcroft isn’t content with the “special relationship” that calls for US soldiers to die and US taxpayers to get soaked, whilst Royal Dutch/Shell gets the first Iraqi oil contract and British Petroleum the second.

Call Off The Pentagon Dogs

I’ve backpacked my way through 50 countries on 6 continents over the past 20 years - many of them on numerous occasions - all the while bearing witness to the carnage that is US foreign policy.  I chronicle this odyssey in my book The Grateful Unrich: Revolution in 50 Countries.  Despite it all, never have I seen an American President been so beloved abroad as Barrack Obama.

A big part of this sentiment is tied to the good riddance of Bush the Lesser, who was considered a laughingstock, a Nazi or both in most quarters.  What really rubbed people wrong was that we re-elected him.  How stupid could we be?  Fair question.

Another part of it is that Obama simply looks more like the rest of the world that any US President ever has.  And despite his mistakes he is capable of humility – a highly undervalued virtue in the ”exceptional” America, but one which indigenous cultures have traditionally held in high regard.

CIA Created Afghan Heroin Trade

Afghan President Hamid Karzai has good reasons for trying to shut down US investigations into corruption in his government.  The Afghan aristocracy has always run the nation’s heroin trade.  But it was the CIA that created it.

In 1933 King Mohammed Zaher Shah took the throne in Afghanistan, ruling the country in feudalistic fashion until he was deposed by his cousin Mohammed Daoud in 1973.  A handful of families including the Karzais and the Kalilzidads (Zalmay Kalilzidad is US Ambassador to Afghanistan) owned nearly all arable land, while most Afghans languished amidst some of the planet’s worst poverty.  Finally, they’d had enough.

The True Liberators of Iraq

Anyone familiar with Iraq’s historical defiance of the Rockefeller/Rothschild Oil Cartel would not have been surprised at the ferocity of Iraqi insurgents battling US occupation forces.   Their frequent offensives were just the latest in a century-long history of attempts by Iraqis to free their country from the talons of the international bankers.

I’ve seen more than a few bizarre US election campaigns in my life.  In 2004 when Barrack Obama won his Illinois US Senate seat, I won the Democratic primary for Congress across the big muddy river in Missouri’s 8th District.  I lost the general election to Republican Jo Ann Emerson’s Corporate PAC-Money Machine- she raised $1 million to my $17,000.  Refusing to accept corporate money, I never had a chance, but we stirred it up and built a more progressive Democratic Party in the 8th that still exists today.

The main event featured Bush the Draft Dodger vs. Kerry the Vietnam Vet.  The Fox News “yellow ribbon on their minivan” crowd predictably picked the coward.  Their beloved smirker loved to talk tough, so long as other people fought his wars.  He was just like them.  Yellow was a good choice of colors.
